Our September newsletter looks back on August’s celebration of St. Augustine, welcomes visiting pilgrims, and shares monastery news and upcoming activities.

In our September newsletter, we look back with gratitude on August’s celebrations and share what lies ahead for our community in DeLand. This issue brings together moments of prayer, fellowship, and service made possible by our friends, volunteers, and benefactors.
On August 23, more than 100 parishioners, benefactors, neighbors, and friends gathered at the monastery to celebrate our patron, St. Augustine. Following the liturgy, guests enjoyed shared food, live music, and fellowship in St. Monica Hall and on the monastery grounds.
We are especially grateful to the volunteers who prepared the gathering spaces, welcomed guests, served meals, and helped clean up afterward. Their generous service made this celebration possible.
Groups from Philadelphia and Houston joined us for their first visit to the monastery. Their presence brought new friendships, and they expressed a desire to introduce our community and its vocation and retreat ministries to their home parishes.
Our celebration also included a financial education seminar organized with the Florida Vietnamese-American Chamber of Commerce and TransGlobal. The session offered practical information for local business owners, contractors, and families, extending our hospitality through community education.
Inside this issue, you will also find updates on monastery grounds and guest accommodations, vocation initiatives, September’s Augustinian calendar, and the educational mission of St. James Institute.
Thank you to everyone whose prayers, service, and generosity sustain our community. We remember you and your families with gratitude in our prayers.
